New shows on Netflix come out quite often and they usually do pretty well since people are always looking for something to binge. Bridgerton is a show like no other and it will get you out of your comfort zone. The show takes place in the mid 1800’s in London and even though Bridgerton is about a time period very long ago it is very modernized. The producer of the show is Shonda Rhymes and she has produced other hit shows including Grey’s Anatomy. Bridgerton is based off of the Bridgerton novels.

SPOILER ALERT! As the show starts off, Daphne Bridgerton and her family and learn that Daphne has become of age for marriage and is looking to wed. Daphne goes to many balls dancing with different men in search of a suitable husband. Daphne does not seem to enjoy any of the men her family wants her to be with. To fool everyone, Daphne and the Duke of Hastings, which is her brother’s best friend, decide to pretend to be a couple so Daphne will not have to be stuck getting married to a man she does not know. Daphne and the Duke are faced with many problems including the fact that the Duke does not want to wed as he has taken a vow to his father that he would never marry to stop his last name from living on. Since there is some tension between the two, Daphne and the Duke seem to actually fall in love with each other somewhere along the way of pretending to be a couple. This show includes very steamy scenes of Daphne and the Duke and sets the Duke out to be a man that had lots of people falling in love while watching the show. When watching Bridgerton the tension between Daphne and the Duke can be felt through the screen leaving you to want to keep watching more.

Bridgerton is a very action filled show as well as dramatic and romantic. There are many scenes that include fighting and gun usage. Although the show includes some dark content, it remains bright and bubbly which is a big part of why this show turned out to be so good. There is also lots of nudity, blood, and foul language that would not be appropriate for younger viewers.

Just days after Bridgerton was released, it was number one on Netflix because of how trending it was and how much love it was getting. The vibe to this show is very different but that is why it got so popular. People needed something different to watch instead of the same old content. Bridgerton is a series filled with all the drama you can think of and has so many shocking twists and turns. Each episode will leave you wanting more of Daphne and the Duke’s relationship that is built like no other.

Each episode of Bridgerton is narrated by someone who goes by the name of Lady Whistledown. Lady Whistledown seems to know all of the latest gossip around the area in London that the Bridgertons are from. Lady Whistledown narrating is a nice touch that the producers added that makes the series even more dramatic. Nobody knows who this woman is but the characters do have their suspicions. A sister of Daphne named Eloise does her research on Whistledown and reports to the queen who she suspects it to be. At the end of the series, Lady Whistledown is revealed and it left everyone shocked since it was not someone you would expect it to be. Do you want  to find out who Lady Whistledown is?
