Morgan Wallen Starts 2021 with a Bang

2020 wasn’t considered a good year for most, but for Wallen, it was the best year yet.

Today, January 8th is the day Morgan Wallen fans all across the world have been waiting for.

In 2020 Morgan Wallen won the new artist of the year award from the Country Music Association and his fame will continue to rise. Morgan’s “More Than My hometown” and “7 Summers” topped the charts while also being my two favorite country songs this year. The majority of Wallen’s concerts were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic but he positively announced in November that his new album “Dangerous: The Double Album”, would be released today January 8, 2021. This 30-song album is following his 2018 album “If I Know Me”, fans of Wallen have almost been waiting two years for new music to come out.

According to Knox News, Morgan said: “ ‘The double album’ idea started as just a joke between me and my manager because we had accumulated so many songs over the past couple of years.” When quarantine started he realized he actually had time to bring it all together and make it happen. Wallen also added, “I wanted the songs to speak to multiple different sounds based on my influences and based on what I enjoy.”

This year was full of highs and lows for Wallen, after his arrest in May for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after a maskless night in Nashville. Morgan explained, “writing ‘Dangerous’ was almost a way of saying, ‘I got this problem, and I’m going to take care of it instead of running from it.” Wallen seemed to face his issues head-on and made the most out of the worst. All his music tells an incredible story and I could see it playing a huge impactive role in people’s lives with such a difficult year. A stellar Timberlane student from the past Colin Scully said, “Morgan Wallen has created a love for country music for me and a bond between my friends and me that has become very impactful.” This spoke to me because music does play a powerful role in some people’s lives including my own.

It was brought to the attention of fans that parts of this album were previously leaked at some Walmarts across the country and it is truly sad for Morgan who has been working for three years. Wallen’s bumpy 2020 has left him unsure about his spotlight for this new album, but to most fans, it is predicted that it will be a great success for this young star.

Lastly, I personally have been waiting patiently for this new masterpiece of Wallen. I think country music is so meaningful and a lot of people miss out by not listening to it! A good friend of mine Aryana Anthony said, “ I can not wait for this summer, windows down driving to the beach blasting Morgan Wallen, nothing makes me happier.” This once again shows the positive impact he can play in a fan’s life. I am in high hopes that this album will blow up and make the top Billboard Charts begin 2021.
