Okay, we all know what a basic person is right? Probably black leggings or grey sweatpants and maybe a hydro flask (which get more hate than deserved because they keep that water nice and cold) and some type of white shoe is usually involved. Now don’t get me wrong, the white shoe craze is fantastic, because they really do go with whatever you want. However do you really want to be like everyone else?

Have you heard of the original six? In 1982 Moses Malone, Mychal Thompson, Bobby Jones, Calvin Natt, Jamal Wilkes, and Michael Cooper were the first NBA players to advertise the new shoes from Nike. Now as style trends are starting to come back from the 80s, the classic shoe is making a comeback and many people want to be a part of the craze. Let us continue by assuming you are one of the many that owns a pair of Nike Air Force One. Now how can you spice it up and customize to your taste? Maybe with a little bit of paint or simply with the clothing you pair with it. To create a look, identify the type of vibe or style you’re going for would be a very important step. Pinterest is a great place to start searching for classic outfits or spunky outfits. Basically, use a word that your friends would describe you with and add the word outfits after it. The classic shoes will go with any type of everyday outfit and you’ll be able to express who you are while still being on trend. An example for fitting the classic shoe into my personal style would be with using army green. I feel as though I look pretty okay in a nice army green because it matches my eye color, so what I did is I went on Pinterest and searched for, comfy army green outfit and that awesome sweater came up. Knowing the vibe you’re going for will help you define your style no matter what shoe you’re wearing. I also spoke to a Timberlane student Eddy Comeau, whom I work with because we work at a shoe store that does not carry the shoes and he was wearing them. I asked him why he went out of his way to get these shoes when we sell plenty of shoes here. He told me “It is a respectable shoe that if anyone sees you walking down the street you’ll instantly gain their respect”. I also asked him how he liked to style the shoes and he informed me “ I prefer wearing solid classic colors with them like black and white and maybe sometimes spicing it up with a pair of khakis.”. Nike Air Force Ones are a classic pair of shoes that anyone, male or female can rock.
