Disney movies are commonly on televisions across America. Disney movies are on whether it’s because having  little kids at home, wanting to relive your childhood or simply being a Disney adult and loving what Disney has to offer. Some of the most popular ones are Disney princess movies. Disney fairy tales are starting to come to life with the new live action Mulan movie. Mulan was recently added to Disney Plus.

Mulan is a Disney movie that helps show one of the many beautiful cultures in the world. To save her father from the Imperial Army, Mulan disguises herself as a man so she can get to battle with the invaders of northern China. Although with the anticipation that was high for this movie to come out, the reviews are not that great.

One thing that every Mulan fan loves is what the story brings while watching it. The live action version has made some big changes as viewers are likely to miss the humor, some songs, and even the loved dragon character Mushu. However, that is not the worst of what came out of the action packed movie. According to Fox News, Disney’s Mulan is being criticized by the Chinese viewers for depicting the Chinese culture and showing history in an inauthentic way. One person even stated that it had, “Poor artistic level, and misrepresented the chinese culture”. An unknown source has stated that, “ Mulan is this year’s most beautiful let down.” 

With Disney letting down the Chinese culture, there has also been a lot of trouble for them with other movies. They thought China would be their main audience, and they were wrong. With how the movie impacted the culture, it has Marvel now waiting to release “Black Widow, ” as they worked with Disney on the film and don’t want there to be as bad of a backlash. The movie that was originally going to come out November 6th is now pushed back to a later date. This date could be in the proximity of Christmas 2021.
