Kobe Buddha House

With Haverhill and Plaistow opening back up, it is only natural that we see some new businesses booming. Around our high school area, Plaistow, Haverhill, and Atkinson, you will see a few of these businesses. One example of this is the new Japanese restaurant located in Haverhill Massachusetts right on the Plaistow line. The restaurant is called Kobe Buddha House.

Kobe Buddha is one of the new additions to the plaza on route 125 which is also the location of the restaurant, Jimmy Ks. On the Kobe Buddha house website, it says they are open Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. and open Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Customers have the option to choose from sitting at a hibachi table, a regular dine-in table, or take-out. Some options from the menu include pad thai, fried rice, drunken noodle, special rolls, katsu dinner, and red curry.

Student Brendan Moody was not happy with his experience. He said “They were very disorganized, got our orders very wrong, and it was very expensive”.  However Jacy LeCain who has also been to the restaurant said “ I had a very good experience at the restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and they had a great selection of gluten free food”. The reviews on google coincide with Jacys experience, the restaurant has a 4.3 star review on google.

Another benefit to the restaurant opening up is that it is bringing more and more people into the town of Haverhill. Dougan Sherwood, president and CEO of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, told The Haverhill Gazette, “I’m excited about the recent flood of new restaurants into the area of the Haverhill-Plaistow line”. New restaurants also help Haverhill financially too. City Councilor William Macek of Haverhill also told The Haverhill Gazette that “This (opening of new restaurants) translates into hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for the city, and it’s approaching $1 million annually”.  The restaurant not only brings in new people but it also brings in money for the town. Overall, the opening of new restaurants, like Kobe, are a win-win for everyone.
