Ski Mountains In New Hampshire

Skiing is very popular in New Hampshire and attracts lots of people to our unique mountains every year. It’s not just about the terrain and the skiing that brings people here, but the views you can get from some of the mountains are amazing. Below are four mountains that have all this to offer. These mountains are also for everyone, from beginners to advanced skiers there is terrain for everyone to improve and have fun on. 

Here is a list of the top rated ski mountains in New Hampshire. Bretton Woods, Loon Mountain, Cranmore Mountain, Mount Sunapee, Cannon Mountain, Attitash Mountain, Gunstock Mountain, Crotched Mountain, Pats Peak, and Ragged Mountain. Now we will be giving a little overview on each of these ski mountains.

Bretton Woods

First off we have Bretton Woods, the largest ski resort in New Hampshire. With 464 skiable acres, Bretton Woods had 62 trails, 35 glades, and three terrain parks. There are 10 chairlifts and that includes their four high speed quads. Bretton Woods is a great ski resort for the whole family, and on a clear day you can get a great view of the summit of Mount Washington.

Cannon Mountain

Cannon Mountain has some of the most technical and challenging trails in New Hampshire. Cannon is located right off of 93 and overlooks Franconia Notch. With 81 trails Cannon runs 10 lifts to access those trails. Cannon is known for its steep and varied terrain which is where olympic gold medalist Bode Miller learned his skills. Cannon Mountain attracts a lot of snow and is a very well known ski area in New Hampshire.

Crotched Mountain

Crotched Mountain is a very high quality ski mountain to visit. The mountain has a 1,000 foot vertical drop, and has 26 skiable trails that are serviced by five lifts. The mountain has plenty of advanced terrain. Over ⅓ of the terrain is geared towards experienced skiers. The resort has a designated area for beginners, with a magic carpet to bring riders to the top. The mountain has three terrain parks that feature a wide variety of jumps, rails, and boxes. One of the highlights of the mountain is they offer 100% of their terrain open for night skiing!

Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain located in the White Mountains right off I-93. It offers 3 peaks with 2,100 feet of vertical elevation, with 61 trails serviced by 12 lifts, including one gondola. The mountain has a wide variety of terrain ranging anywhere from beginner to advanced trails, and they have 6 terrain parks. The mountain just installed the very first 8 person chairlift on the East Coast. This chairlift offers heated seats and a bubble that comes down and protects the riders from the elements.
