New Hampshire residents are worried with covid cases rising due to schools, restaurants, and gyms opening and social gatherings taking place. Since the beginning of October, cases in the state have been starting to increase, and the number of cases each day are averaging higher than they were at the start of the pandemic, according to NHPR.

The N.H Department of Health and Human Services has reported two new deaths, three new hospitalizations, and 252 new cases, on Wednesday, November 4th. There were 1,546 covid cases active in New Hampshire during the week of November 4th. The state’s Covid-19 deaths total 486 and has seen 11,808 total cases.

Governor Chris Sununu said he has no plans for additional restrictions at this time, but he is watching the case numbers closely. New Hampshire remains the only state in New England without a mask mandate. The state is averaging 150 new cases per day as of November 4th. “The situation here in New Hampshire remains very serious, the data shows that community transmission is increasing, and we expect cases to rise,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “We must all remain vigilant in our daily lives. As we enter these winter months, it will be more important than ever to wear your mask, practice social distancing, and maintain proper hand hygiene,” Sununu also stated.

Rising numbers in the state are suspected to be coming from small social gatherings, according to NHPR. New Hampshire health officials are warning everyone about the common symptoms to watch out for including: fever, lack of smell, chills, cough, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing. As the governor, health officials, and CDC have said, it is important to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and frequently wash hands in order to slow the transmission throughout the community.
