The Student Council just announced their exciting spirit activities for next week! They’re asking students to come all out in their Timberlane Pride on Tuesday, November 17 (for Cohort One) and on Friday, November 20 (for Cohort Two)! What’s more exciting than that? A schoolwide trivia Kahoot on Wednesday, November 18! Student council is also having a gratitude collage competition, and, per the recommendation of a Timberlane teacher, Michael Castano, a Hand Turkey contest. All of this is just in time for the holiday season!

What do you need to know to participate? Interested in playing the Kahoot? Sign up on your year’s google classroom page on the google form provided! If you sign up, the link to the game will be sent to your email address the morning before play. The first and second place winners will receive gift cards!

Hand turkey drawings and Gratitude colleges will be due at Midnight on Saturday, November 21,  via a google form that will be emailed to everyone! The hand turkey contest is open to all ages in the Timberlane District!

Last month the Timberlane Community got to see the first “Monthly Madness” in action, with a pumpkin carving contest and a Jersey Day. This upcoming week, from November 16th to the 20th, the excitement is only expected to grow!

Kaylie Sheffield, Student Council Public Relations Officer, talked about why the Student Council is working so hard to make such activities accessible to everyone in the District. She said, “In honor of Thanksgiving, November is really a month of increased gratitude. Showing our school spirit and showcasing our Timberlane Pride is our way of being grateful for the school we go to and the community we get to live in. Making collages and hand turkeys offers a time of reflection and the opportunity to showcase what we’re grateful for!” Usually at this time the student council would be planning events like spirit week, but in light of the current situation they wanted to find a more pandemic-friendly approach. Sheffield says, “We still wanted to give students an opportunity to get involved and still promote school spirit however we could!”
