The past year will be an unforgettable year for all. Not only has it affected people’s lives, but it has also affected the whole world.

It has been new and different for everyone. Since our school district has decided to go hybrid The other option for the kids who do can’t go to school is doing remote learning. There have been complaints about how the school is set up for now, but these are only done for the students and faculty’s safety.

To get a student’s perspective on how the school feels for them COVID style some were asked to share a thought or two. “ I hope to have somewhat of a normal senior year and get to do the activities that come with it,” says Monica a senior student. Hopefully, this year faculty can make sure the Seniors are not forgotten about and have the opportunities that past senior classes had. So recommendation that would be COVID friendly is trying to put together spirit week. The teacher in charge of STUCO, Ms. Libby, had an update on spirit week, “Mr. Brown and I are trying to put together a spirit week especially for the senior class.”

There are two groups of students from different grades that were put into cohorts to minimize the number of students in the building. However, there are after school activities like sports to see your friends in different cohorts. My two friends and I are experiencing the separation of each other, one is in cohort two while Monica and I are in cohort one. However, after school we have soccer practice and get to see each other.

Another idea that helps make school enjoyable is taking classes you enjoy. Since there are three days out of the week that is online, most kids find it difficult to be learning about a class they do not enjoy. To try and fix your classes guidance is always there to help you switch or drop classes. Especially, during this time they will understand and try to make your classes more likable.

Hopefully, as the school year goes by the restrictions will loosen up and it will feel almost normal.
